Vehicles and Their Prices for Self Drive Car Hire in Uganda
1. Toyota Rav4
This is a rental car normally hired by two people. it is a great car for self drive as it is economical in both its price and fuel consumption. A Rav4 is a robust four-wheel vehicle that can travel on any road. The price of a Rav4 for self drive hire is 40$ less fuel.
This is a sport utility vehicle popularly hired by travelers for self drive. Its passenger carrying capacity is 4. The land cruiser Prado Tx is very spacious, enabling it to carry travelers and their huge luggage comfortably. it has a popup roof for a better game-viewing experience.
A rooftop tent can also be lodged at the top of Prado TX for camping. A plain Prado Tx goes for 65$ for self drive hire whereas a land cruiser with a rooftop tent goes for 90$.
3. Safari Van and Super Custom

Places to go for Self Drive Safari
i). Murchison Falls National Park
This is the largest natural biodiversity in Uganda, located in the northern part of the country. The park area is dissected by the Nile, as it makes its way to the north of Africa.
The park is regarded as a big five destination combined with a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. With a wealth of big mammals and a river crossing through it, the main activities at Murchison Falls national parks are game drives and boat cruises.
ii). Queen Elizabeth National Park
Dubbed the medley of wonders, Queen Elizabeth national park is the most popular park in Uganda. It is located in the western part of the country in Kasese district.

iii). Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

iv). Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
This is also located in the same locality as Bwindi impenetrable and trades the same animal species- the mountain gorillas. However, Mgahinga has very few gorillas to track and is not so much visited as Bwindi. The other activities to do in the park are golden Monkey tracking and Mountain hiking.
v). Kibale Forest National Park
Nestled in the western part of Uganda a few miles off Fort Portal, the Tourism city, Kibale forest national park is one of the most amazing places to visit on a Uganda self drive tour.
It is popularly known as the capital of primates as it has the highest number and concentration of primate species in the whole of Africa. The major things to do in the forest are chimpanzee trekking, birding and nature walking.
vi). Lake Mburo National Park
This is the nearest national park from Kampala, the main starting point of every self drive safari tour in Uganda. it is located in Kiruhura district on the road from Kampala-Msaka-Mbarara. it is a great place to view the common game and enjoy the sea breeze on Lake Mburo.
vii). Kidepo National Park
Detached in the far northeastern corner of the country in Kaabong district in the Karamoja region. viii). Lake Bunyonyi
The lake is the second deepest water body in Africa. It lies between the two districts of Kabale and Kisoro in Kigezi Highlands. Bunyonyi has 29 islands dotted on its grey still waters creating an enthralling scenic view.
